Voters in the northern city of Hai Phong called on the Government to allocate more investment to education and training.
The voters, from Kien An and An Lao districts and Hai Phong University, voiced the opinion during their meetings with candidates to the 13th National Assembly, including Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung.
Rector of Hai Phong University Vuong Toan Thuyen said investment should go to educational facilities and equipment. “Investment in education and training is the most effective investment as it serves development,” he noted.
Trinh Lam Ngoc, a student from the university, voiced his desire that the State should continue to expand learning-purposed loans for students.
Many voters said they expected the deputies of the new legislature to put forth more effective measures for administrative reform, policy making, the fight against corruption, rural economic development, and healthcare, especially for people in disadvantaged areas.
They also wished NA deputies would spend more time on meeting with voters so that their ideas and desires could be heard.
On behalf of the candidates, PM Nguyen Tan Dung affirmed that education is one of the key breakthroughs that the Government is determined to make for the country to stand firmly in the context of increasingly international integration.
The Government top leader committed to strong governance to ensure social security and resolutely combat corruption.
